Standout Family Photographer Kent and Folkestone

Cliché or not, family is one of the most, if not the most, important thing in life. (Ssh, don’t tell them I said this). However, in the day-to-day bustle of modern life, it can be all too easy to take that for granted (don’t tell them I said that either).

Make sure you don’t do this, or at least pretend not to, by capturing the best times and those moments you want to remember and keeping them close by.

You might keep your family photographs on your phone lock screen, share them on social media, or you might be a canvas person, or put them in a frame in your home office.

Whichever format you go with, there’s no better way to keep your loved-ones and memories to hand than investing in some unique family photography. Without the poses, without the cheese and very much minus the awkward faces.

And once you have your images, they will be with you forever. Which is more than you can say for a family goldfish, or a PlayStation 5 – choose wisely.

The Best-Quality Natural Family Photography

The questions I’m asked most often as a family photographer is “do we have to do poses?”, “wont it look staged?” and “I don’t like getting my photo taken – will I look silly?” Which is why I like to reassure you from the start that you will not find overly staged, self-conscious photographs around here.

I pride myself on presenting you and your family with un-posed, un-“cheese”, un-fake smile-d images. Images which look as natural as possible and focus on capturing your dynamic and your personality as a family more than shiny teeth and uneasy smiles.

Not everyone loves the lens or feels comfortable getting their photo taken in their Sunday best. As an experienced photographer of over 15 years, I have a range of techniques and ways to make sure everyone involved is relaxed, comfortable and engaged. And this is how you will get the result you want, how you want it and come away satisfied. Like these good people before you.

Bring the Landscape into Your Kent Family Photography

For someone who spends his days taking family photography Kent is a sterling choice of place to settle down – well done.* And for a family photoshoot, Kent makes a stunning backdrop. *Disclaimer: Yes, I live in Kent – the beautiful Folkestone, to be exact. Well done to us on our excellent taste.

In fact, myself and the Hensel clan were so taken with Kent that we moved our entire lives from Derbyshire to the frankly incredible Folkestone back in 2016.

Not only this, but as a local wedding and family photographer, I spend a great deal of time becoming familiar with the area’s charms. If I’m not scoping the perfect scenery, then you can find me chasing the ideal light and backdrop for my clients.

In short, when it comes to your family photography, Kent can easily be included as the feature you never knew you needed. Whether on the beach at Margate, outside Canterbury Cathedral or next to Folkestone Harbour Lighthouse, we can introduce your home county into your family photography. Like that slightly eccentric aunt you always forget to send Christmas cards to. (Sorry Enid – we did it again).

A Family Photography Style That Works For You

Much like buying a car, an e-scooter or whatever it is people get around on nowadays, you will need an idea as to whether a family photographer’s style suits your own before buying.

This is where my gallery comes in – below and in my portfolio are some examples of family photoshoots I’m most proud of. Please take a browse to see the magic in action.
