As we eased out of lockdown recently I was delighted to be asked to photograph a portfolio of images for Spats handcrafted boots (https://www.spats-boots.com). Actually, we’d been plotting it for some time but hadn’t been able to go ahead due to the restrictions.
We are indebted to Ben and Petra, the two models, who as well as looking good put in a stellar performance with numerous outfit (and boot) changes without complaint.
Photographed at Mermaid Beach, Folkestone
The shoot was at Mermaid Beach in Folkestone, my home town, and in the Coastal Park behind the beach later on. We’re incredibly lucky here to have these kind of backdrops on our doorstep. I love shooting outside, there are so many more possibilities than those within the four walls of the studio… fortunately the weather played ball too.
These are just a small selection of the shots we took on the day, there are too many “keepers’ to share here!
Folkestone Photographer
My thanks to Imo from Spats for trusting me to photograph her range of British-designed handmade sustainable rubber boots. As a photographer in Folkestone, Kent, it always pleases me when a client from London wants to make use of our beautiful seaside setting, and indeed recognises the quality of images I can produce. This was a pleasure to shoot, bringing together a team of models, photographer and client; our thanks too to fashion industry, founder and director, Eriko Nagata who provided much of the clothing we used – find her London-based boutique Wondrous Theatre at https://wondroustheatre.com.
The shoot brought together portrait photography, commercial photography and fashion and provides evidence of how the lines between these various disciplines can be blurred. I regularly shoot both portraits and commercial photography, both in the studio and outside, so whether you’re a family, a business or a couple and are planning a shoot please get in touch.
