Last Saturday saw Helen and Dominic get married at All Saints Church in Matlock, Derbyshire. It’s a lovely little church, and Father Richard goes into the lead for Tim Hensel’s Vicar Of The Year award. So that’s nice.
What made this ceremony a little different was an owl. That is to say, the rings were delivered to Best Man Alfie by an owl ring bearer, also called Alfie, flying down from the balcony with the rings in a little bag attached to his leg. Amazing stuff, I’d heard of this before but this is my first time seeing it for real. Here’s my Owl Shot:
I’m quite pleased with this. The Owl Handlers tell me that in the 400-odd weddings they’ve done, they’ve only seen a photo like this 3 or 4 times. So that is, as I am so fond of saying, nice. Alfie the owl was expertly handled by the excellent folk of www.theowlringbearer.co.uk
Later on we repaired to the White Hart near Alfreton, Derbyshire, for some splendid reception action. Here’s my trademark Last Shot Of The Night:
Anyway, thanks for looking.
