Hello everyone! I posted a sneak preview from this one a few weeks ago, so it’s definitely time to share a few more of their photos.

Helen didn’t want the bridal preparation (“getting ready” in normal non-wedding English) photographs, so I met them at the church in Matlock, Derbyshire.

The distribution of rose petals by her daughter was a lovely thing to capture.

The ceremony itself featured the rings being delivered by an owl called Alfie. Dom’s son is also called Alfie, so that’s nice. He can’t, as far as I’m aware, fly however, so he “received” the owl on a leather gauntlet.  I’d heard of this sort of thing before but never seen it in action.

To pat myself on the back a little, I was pleased with the owl-in-flight shot. I spoke to the Owl Handlers (The Owl Ring Bearer) and they told me that out of the 400-odd weddings they’ve done, they’ve only seen a picture like this 4 or 5 times! I should probably admit that there’s a little bit of luck involved, as the owl flies incredibly fast 🙂

Family group photos were shot inside the church as it was cold and unpleasant outside.

Nice natural-looking portrait in the church, Hensel Style 🙂

Confetti, drinks and speeches always provide the opportunity for some lovely natural photos of people generally enjoying themselves

My trademark last-shot-of-the-day off camera flash photo was nicely helped along by a bit of sunset action.
